Book Review: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

Last month I read an amazing book over the course of a weekend that I spent babysitting. In between making meals, breaking up skirmishes between siblings, and keeping said siblings entertained, I managed to finish the entire book.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert was a refreshing read that really helped me reflect on how to incorporate creativity into my daily life. The big take away for me was that I shouldn't let fear cause me to push away the creative things that make me happy.

I truly, truly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who needs a little boost to go after the creative pursuits they enjoy.

Book Review: You Are a Badass

So over the weekend I started reading this book:

OMG. It's amazing.

This was my first go at reading a self-help type book so I was skeptical. I thought, "My life really isn't *that* bad. This will probably be a big waste of time." The great thing about this book is that the wisdom it contains can be applied equally to people whose lives are in the crapper and people who have it pretty good but can't seem to break through and achieve their life goals. Whether you need a kick in the pants to get the career you want, the relationship you desire, or the kind of income you dream about, the tools in this book can help. I know it may sound corny, but now that I'm done reading this book I can't believe what a difference I already feel. I enjoyed every minute of reading this. I see so much of myself in this book. No more excuses! It's time for me to embrace my inner bad ass!

So if you're needing a boost, I beg you to do yourself a HUGE favor and go get this book. Totally worth it!
